I Can Change the World
By: Benjamin Stern
Every year since I was four, I have played some kind of baseball. Whether it was t-ball, machine pitch, or just baseball, I loved it. My dream is to become a professional baseball player. I can change the world by spreading this game across the world and teaching kids how to play.
I'm not waiting until I'm an adult. For my Bar Mitzvah project I am going to collect used baseball equipment to send to kids around the world who can't afford to buy equipment. I want to give these kids an opportunity to learn and enjoy an amazing game, which can hopefully make their lives happier. Playing baseball can also help kids get in shape and prevent obesity, so they can live healthier lives.
Teaching baseball to kids, can lead to a better world for all of us. If we spread baseball around the world, many nations, playing the same game, can bring the world together. People developing a better understanding of other countries and their customs, could lead to more peace in the world.
In the Little League World Series, kids from around the world, play baseball with each other, and make friends for a lifetime. Whether I become a professional player or not, I'd like to coach and run clinics for kids so they can learn how to play baseball, to have good sportsmanship and maybe a better understanding of the world we live in. This will be good for the world, now and forever.
