School music education programs were often eliminated or reduced as a result of budget cuts during the previous administration. But as funds begin to be returned to schools, we strongly advocate for music programs to get their fair share, and for many good reasons.
Music enriches students’ lives and helps to develop reasoning and language skills. It helps kids to master memorization, increase coordination, and promotes craftsmanship and a sense of achievement. It also contributes to students being more engaged in school and learning pattern recognition.
Music relaxes and builds discipline, imagination, and creative thinking. What’s more, it helps with emotional development and even higher SAT scores!
