Upper Dublin Education Foundation Salutes Grant Recipients

In an effort to support unique learning opportunities throughout the district, the Upper Dublin Education Foundation (UDEF) awarded six grants totaling more than $10,000 this past school year. The UDEF Grant program encourages innovation and helps fund resources not addressed in existing school district programs. This year’s recipients are:

The Elementary Schools’ Art Departments:

The Picasso Project: A Museum Adventure brought to all of the district’s elementary schools

Nicole Gerhart (Maple Glen Elementary): Read and Run Learning Lab, reinforcing reading skills in an action-based physical education program

Jill Lynch (Thomas Fitzwater Elementary): Better Than 1,000 Math Worksheets, a “no stress – no test” playing card program for students to practice their math skills

Doug Sample (Upper Dublin High): Physics Labs … The New Frontier, data collection technology to increase the power of the lab experience by engaging all learners

Margie Scherzer (Sandy Run Middle): Speak Up!,a program that provides youth, educators and parents the skills, opportunity and support to “Speak Up” and be heard on critical topics

Lynn Schroeder (Special Education): ALERT seats for special needs students, which increase student engagement and productivity during instructional time
