Quakertown Community High School's Project Lead the Way is a college recognized pre-engineering program designed to prepare students for the challenges of college classes. Teacher Chris Polk recently worked with 14 students to make simulated models of a freight elevator. They used laptops and LabView, an industry software design program, to build the models with Lego-type (Fisher brand) pieces and electronic/hydraulic parts so the miniature elevators would actually move. Students in the class will also be assisting local architects in the design phase of Quakertown Community High School's renovation.
