Teacher Tuesday

Teacher Tuesday: July 26, 2018

This week’s #TeacherTuesday is Andrew Coates, a fourth-grade educator in Overlook Elementary School in Abington School District, who definitely has that “wow” factor. According to the student who nominated him as a teacher worthy of recognition in our May promotion on 97.5 FM The Fanatic Philadelphia, “Mr. Coates is the best fourth grade teacher…he makes class fun and interesting every day by using videos and technology.”

Deeply engaging his students is a primary goal and he says, “As a teacher, seeing the students motivated and excited to learn is one of the most rewarding feelings.”

He adds, “Getting to know my students and forming that personal connection is one thing that inspires me every day. Every student is different and has different needs.”

What’s more, Andrew believes, “It’s so important to use that personal connection to create a positive learning environment.”

Let us know who else strives to create meaningful connections to enhance learning and we’ll feature that individual in an upcoming #TeacherTuesday.
