Speech Therapist Finds Joy in "Aha" Moments

This week’s #TeacherTuesday, Meghan Neary, is a Speech and Language Therapist at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit and a member of the MCIU Education Association. The unit provides instructional support services to school districts, charter and non-public schools in the county.Meghan loves to work with small groups and individuals so that she can “connect on a deeper level with them.” She takes great joy in the “magic ‘aha!’ moments” that her students share as she sees their eyes light up, and their “smile when something clicks, or they feel successful.” Planning to be an elementary teacher from her early years, Meghan “realized that working with children and individuals who needed more support would better suit me.” And she adds, “To me, it’s the best of both worlds — I get to work with teams of teachers and be a part of the school while working closely on necessary specific skills for students.”Tell us what other teachers are weaving their magic and we’ll feature them in an upcoming #TeacherTuesday.
