Upper Dublin High School 10th and 12th grade social studies teacher Jules Mermelstein offers his students the opportunity to prove they have learned classroom material any way that is authentic to them - as opposed to having to just take a test. This allows students to delve into the lesson’s issues in innovative, creative ways. Some examples of media students have used include music videos, original lyrics to songs, artwork, new games, etc. Mermelstein then posts some pieces on a class website so students can share what they learned with each other.
